FAQ

Who is Writers’ Craft Room for?
Novelists of any genre and age category. It doesn’t matter if you’re published or unpublished, agented or indie. All stages and paths to publication are welcome.

Who shouldn’t join?
Authors who write only short stories, non-fiction, poetry, or picture books won’t benefit as much from Writers’ Craft Room.

What makes Writers’ Craft Room different from other writing groups?
Writers’ Craft Room is focused on self-editing and revising. So much writing advice is about drafting. Jeni is an editor first and foremost, and while she can help with drafting, her real expertise is in the editing and revising process. Over the years, she’s developed a lot of ways to make revising more productive and less stressful.

So, can I join if I don’t have a finished draft?
Absolutely! It’s always good to be thinking ahead to the next steps of your plan to publish. However, if you haven’t started your first draft, it might be better to wait until you’re closer to being ready for revisions.

When will I be able to access the community and all its goodies?
Right away! As soon as your registration is complete, you have instant access to the whole community.

Is this only for authors in the U.S.?
Anyone with internet access can join. The monthly live call has two times to accommodate all time zones. There will also be recordings available for all events.

Is Writers’ Craft Room inclusive?
Authors who are LGBTQ+, BIPOC, disabled, neurodivergent, or from other historically marginalized communities are encouraged to join. We always strive to mediate any issues, but harassment is never tolerated. Read our full Terms and Conditions, including our Anti-Harassment Policy.

Is Writers’ Craft Room accessible?
We are making every effort to make sure it is. If you find that we could make improvements, please let us know!

What are the payment options?
You can pay with a credit card, bank account, Google Pay, or Apple Pay. Payment is processed through Stripe.

Are scholarships or payment plans available?
Not at this time. However, some of the resources are already available for free on the Resources page.
